Tell me in the comments! | Mi primer reseña del año, ¿cuál fue el primer libro que leíste este 2024? Contame en los comentarios. Amazon Add to Goodreads   BLURB I can’t remember a time when I haven’t loved my childhood best friend, Amelia. Her big brown eyes and beautiful smile have had a hold on me since we were teenagers. Hell, I even love her kids as if they were my own. Now, she’s divorced, and after twenty years, it’s time to make my move. The tension between us finally erupts and I kiss her. Imagine my surprise when she doesn’t push me away but says she wants to give us a try. Except she has one condition: We keep it a secret. I’ll do anything for her, even this. But I can’t help but want to shout to the world that the woman of my dreams is finally mine. I inadvertently do it when her ex-husband rolls back into town. A man I’ve hated since

Review: Fourth Wing, Rebecca Yarros (ENG & ESP)

Fourth Wing / Alas de sangre, Rebecca Yarros (ENG FIRST/ESP ABAJO) 🐉 5 bolting stars: it promises and it delivers, this story absolutely lives up to its hype! As the phrase on the cover says, I hadn’t read such a good fantasy story in over a decade. This book has awoken my fangirl side all over again and it’s been such a joyful ride, wink wink. The Huger Games meet Harry Potter and add some great romance in the middle, plus its obvious own sparks: this is the story of a kingdom where young people are raised either to be a scribe or a rider. Violet Sorrengail, daughter of a famous commander, was supposed to be a scribe; she imagined her life between books and history. But her mother’s desires/orders change everything and in spite of her sister’s and her own wishes she ends up on Conscription Day presenting herself to compete to be worthy of being a dragon rider, with no physical training to be so. But with her sister’s help and her own witty and resolve there she goes with one

Review: Atheists Who Neel and Pray, Tarryn Fisher

I have to say I love this cover and the title! It's perfectly explained during the book and it's so accurate and unique! In love with it! Yara Phillips is a wandering muse. She dates men who need her, but always moves on to something new, never staying in one place for very long. David Lisey is in need of a muse. A talented musician lacking lyrical inspiration. When he first sees her, he knows he's found what he's been looking for. Yara believes she can give David exactly what he needs to reach his full potential: A broken heart. David’s religion is love. Yara’s religion is heartache. Neither is willing to surrender, but religion always requires sacrifice.   Yara’s Yesterday Spotify List: https://open.spotify.com/user/1226318453/playlist/6h5mCg008D4VxjkWuudzQ7   http://www.tarrynfisher.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/AWKAP-Fin.mp4         Dear Yara, The bands in London, November 12th. Anything you can do Title: Anything You Can Do Author: R.S. Grey Release Date: Feb 2, 2017 Add to TBR Lucas Thatcher has always been my enemy. It’s been a decade since I’ve seen him, but our years on opposite coasts were less of a lasting peace and more of a temporary cease-fire. Now that we’re both back in our small town, I know Lucas expects the same old war, but I’ve changed since high school—and from the looks of it, so has he. The arrogant boy who was my teenage rival is now a chiseled doctor armed with intimidating good looks. He is Lucas Thatcher 2.0, the new and improved version I’ll be competing with in the workplace instead of the schoolyard. I’m not worried; I’m a doctor now too, board-certified and sexy in a white coat. It almost feels like winning will be too easy—until Lucas unveils a tactic neither of us has ever used before: sexual warfare . The day he pushes me up against the wall and presses his lips to mine, I can’t help but wonder if

Review: The ground beneath our feet, Leslie McAdam

Imagen
The Ground Beneath Our Feet by Leslie McAdam My rating: 3 of 5 stars This book speaks about subjects that matter, it's a story about self acceptance and self love. It is about overcoming your past and taking the leap for your future. Jessica is a young woman who is diagnosed as obese and with diabetic conditions. With ghosts from her past hunting her, she always seeked comfort in food. When she finally decides to start making choices to improve her life, and she moves to Santa Barbara, she meets Mikey, a hot veterinarian who sees her, really sees her, and won't stop until he gets the answer he wants from her. But Mikey also has a past to hide. Will they be able to heal? The premise of the story was hooking, the characters were interesting, but unfortunately, and I feel really bad about it, I couldn't quite connect with it as pretty much everyone else did. I particulary am more fond of action than inner monologue and I think that's what maybe didn't do it

Review: Hamlet, Shakespeare

Imagen

Review: Evading Fate, A.M. Myers

Evading Fate by A.M. Myers My rating: 2 of 5 stars REAL RATING: 2.5 STARS TITLE: EVADING FATE SERIES: HIDDEN SCARS, BOOK #3 AUTHOR: A.M. MYERS GENRE: CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE This book is the third and final (?) installment of the Hidden Scars series and CAN'T BE READ AS AN STANDALONE unless you want to spoil yourself the plot of the previous books as happened to me. I'm having trouble to write this review because I thought I'd love this story but I didn't. The premise was good but the development didn't live up to it, at least not for me. BLURB Fate. I’ve been running from it most of my life – doing everything I can to avoid the future it had dictated for me. If I had learned one thing from the hell I went through as a child, it was that I never wanted to go back. Until I ran into someone who was running from her destiny just as hard as I was. And it just so happens that she’s one of my best friends. One night, emboldened by alcohol, she does something that has me
