I absolutely loved this debut of the writing duo Eden Eaves (they are two bestselling authors writing under this pen name). I love romance and fantasy and furthermore I love romantasy. Give me dragons and I’ll go crazy and apparently that’s what happened lol.

This is the story of Sol, a fae and a Ryder who was taken from her home when she was little, hidden away at a cult society that lived with no magic, making everyone in it believe magic wasn’t real. And Nix a dragon shifter (fae in his alternate form), meant to be the commander of the flying force of the Kingdom who had his Ryder stolen and therefore his born right to being the General’s successor stolen as well. It all starts with him finding her again and rescuing her from a guaranteed death by kidnapping her.

After that begins the journey of her discovering the real magical world and its history as well as starting her training to be a Ryder. And there’s also a little problem: her magic seems to be lost or forgotten, and without it, they can’t fully merge their powers, which are meant to work together as one.

Regarding the characters, Nix was infuriating many times due to the pressures he felt over his responsibility to his Kingdom. He felt like a failure, unable to fulfill them, which made him bitter and grumpy, and sometimes even an a*hole. I like how his characters started to open up towards the end and can’t wait to keep seeing this new side of him.

I also liked the powerful heroine, Zaria, how much she had survived during the times she was taken away and raised in that cult, and how much she learnt and grew when she started her new life.
Although they’re fated mates (swoon worthy), this was a slow burn and hate-to-love, enemish-to-lovers trope, so the building of their romance is at an unhurried pace that I also enjoyed.

Moreover I loved Kol, Nix’s twin brother, who also became a great friend to Zaria. He was loyal, kind, caring, and very funny as well. And I also liked Kiera, the healer. She was smart and a great friend. I can’t wait to see how her story develops.

I loved the idea of this world and can’t wait to know more about its history and the plots that surround them as well. I need to know how the whole thing develops asap, just kidding, or not.

Me encantó absolutamente este debut del dúo de escritoras Eden Eaves (son dos exitosas autoras que escriben bajo este seudónimo). Me encanta el romance y la fantasía, y aún más la fantasía de romance. Dame dragones y me vuelvo loca, y aparentemente eso es lo que sucedió jaja.

Esta es la historia de Sol, una hada y jinete que fue llevada de su hogar cuando era pequeña, escondida en una sociedad sectaria que vivía sin magia, haciendo que todos en ella creyeran que la magia no era real. Y Nix, un cambia-formas dragón (hada en su forma alternativa), destinado a ser el comandante de la fuerza aérea del Reino que su jinete fue robada y, por lo tanto, su derecho de nacimiento de ser el sucesor del General también le fue arrebatado. Todo comienza cuando él la encuentra nuevamente y la rescata de una muerte segura secuestrándola.

Después de eso comienza el viaje de ella descubriendo el mundo mágico real y su historia, así como comenzando su entrenamiento para ser una jinete. Y también hay un pequeño problema: su magia parece estar perdida u olvidada, y sin ella, no pueden fusionar completamente sus poderes, que están destinados a funcionar juntos como uno solo.

Con respecto a los personajes, Nix fue muchas veces exasperante debido a las presiones que sentía sobre su responsabilidad hacia su Reino. Se sentía como un fracaso, incapaz de cumplirlas, lo que lo volvía amargado y gruñón, y a veces incluso un i*bécil. Me gusta cómo comenzó a abrirse hacia el final y no puedo esperar para seguir viendo este nuevo lado de él.

También me gustó la poderosa heroína, Zaria, lo mucho que tuvo que sobrevivir durante los tiempos en que fue llevada y criada en esa secta, y cuánto aprendió y creció cuando comenzó su nueva vida.

Aunque son almas gemelas predestinadas (para derretirse de amor), este fue una romance lento y un subgénero de odio-amarte, así que la construcción del mismo se hace a un ritmo despacio que también disfruté.

Además, me encantó Kol, el hermano gemelo de Nix, que también se convirtió en un gran amigo de Zaria. Era leal, amable, cariñoso y muy divertido también. Así mismo, me gustó Kiera, la sanadora. Era inteligente y una gran amiga. No puedo esperar para ver cómo se desarrolla su historia.

Me encantó la idea de este mundo y no puedo esperar para conocer más sobre su historia y las tramas/conspiraciones que los rodean también. Necesito saber cómo se desarrolla todo lo antes posible, es broma, o tal vez no.
